Hybrid Building Receives Praise, So Does Kessel

by Max Asinger 17. August 2011 17:25

Jamestown Harley-Davidson

The Harley-Davidson of Jamestown has been a huge success utilizing new building and finance techniques. So we built this with a unique True Hybrid construction process, taking the strengths of a pre-engineered structure and combining them with the benefits of a conventional construction process. Along with a great design inside, we helped them keep their long run costs to a minimum by implementing Cost Segregation, and a energy-efficient structure. Cost Segregation maximizes depreciation on materials of the building therefore allowing increased cash flow to the business.

Brain Reid vice president of the dealership wanted something remarkable and that’s what he got, Reid said “We didn't want a cookie-cutter building. We wanted something different, We knew we could come up with a look that would be unique, something people would see and say, 'wow you need to check out that building!' We shared our sketches with the designer and got exactly what we wanted."

In conjunction with the design Reid enjoyed being involved with the build team, “I was on-site every day. It was my building and I wanted to participate in the process, but I didn't want to get in the way,” said Reid."They always made me feel welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kessel. Everyone was professional. If something needed taken care of, it was. Any hitches were handled and the building process went on. It made me proud to have Kessel as my construction company of choice."

Pavilion Finished, Warren County Fair Grounds

by Max Asinger 14. July 2011 19:27

As of today the pavilion in Warren is substantially complete and is currently having electrical and seating installed. The building is ready for the up coming Warren County Fair this year, the previous building collapsed earlier this winter due to the heavy snow, ice, and rain. The construction on the building finished a couple days earlier then expected, which now leaves everything to the Warren County Planning and Zoning board. Lastly, According to the Fair board President Dave Wilcox, the pavilion will look closely to the old one but with more room, less obstacles and better viewing due to the new design with no support poles.

Kessel Recieves 40 Million Sales Award

by Max Asinger 11. May 2011 16:25

We received an award for our  sales of Butler material over the last 60 plus years at the Butler Sales meeting in Atlanta. We have been pushing through these tough times over the last couple of years.

The Marcellus shale formation in Pennsylvania and New York, the wells being drilled, has helped our business too. Kessel Construction is providing concrete pads for compressor buildings and related units as well as the metal building structures to cover this valuable equipment.

We appreciate Luminite selecting us as their contractor in moving to Bradford too.

In the picture below, Dick Kessel on the middleright is holding a plack for the award and Tim Asinger is on the middle left holding a trophy for the 40 million dollar award.

DEP Tests Show No Radioactivity After Water- Treatment

by Max Asinger 6. April 2011 01:56

There has been a recent increase in the talk about Marcellus Shale water treatment plants releasing radioactive material into the soil/water. This myth has been talked about in a movie by Fox, which is highly controversial in the gas industry for the sheer amount of accusations with-out sources. The test conducted by the DEP has now confirmed that the water treatment plants in PA have not effected our water supplies. This is a good sign showing us that the drilling that will be taking place shale not harm the citizens in the area. Drilling will bring many opportunities to this area and its good to know that it will be safe too.

This Information Has all come from the PIOGA

Here is the original Posting here below.

DEP Announces Testing for Radioactivity of River Water Downstream of Marcellus Water Treatment Plants Shows Water Is Safe

HARRISBURG -- The Department of Environmental Protection today announced results of in-stream water quality monitoring for radioactive material in seven of the commonwealth's rivers. All samples showed levels at or below the normal naturally occurring background levels of radioactivity.  The tests were conducted in November and December of 2010 at stations downstream of wastewater treatment plants that accept flowback and production water from Marcellus Shale drilling.
"We deal in facts based on sound science," said DEP acting Secretary Michael Krancer. "Here are the facts: all samples were at or below background levels of radioactivity; and all samples showed levels below the federal drinking water standard for Radium 226 and 228." Krancer said that these sampling stations were installed last fall specifically to monitor stream quality for potential impacts of Marcellus development.  Krancer explained that the water tested is the raw water in the river before it enters public water suppliers' intakes where the water receives further treatment.

The river testing stations that were evaluated are the Monongahela at Charleroi in Washington County; South Fork Ten Mile Creek in Greene County; Conemaugh in Indiana County; Allegheny at Kennerdell in Venango County; Beaver in Beaver County; Tioga in Tioga County; and the West Branch of the Susquehanna in Lycoming County.

Rebuttal for the drilling movie “Gasland”

by Max Asinger 28. February 2011 16:54

This has been a very controversial movie in the gas industry. They have alleged many faults in the movie that Fox has failed to Elaborate more on.. One of these includes how Fox has gotten hydraulic fracturing mixed up with drilling in general.

Here is the original newsletter from PIOGA

________________________________________________________________________________________

The link below is to a detailed “fact check” published this morning on the New York Times “Greenwire” website about Gasland.  It includes a number of excellent rebuttals to claims made in the movie, and should be a good resources to use during talks about the industry.

It might be most useful to print it and have it with you at speaking engagements as evidence that the movie is not based on fact – as reported by the most respected newspaper in the country.

MUST-READ: Groundtruthing Academy Award Nominee 'Gasland'‎. New York Times/E&E News. The documentary "Gasland" brought the term "hydraulic fracturing" into the nation's living rooms. With its sharp and sustained criticism of gas drilling, it highlighted the growing debate that has come with a boom in the country's domestic energy production. And it's been nominated for an Oscar. … Industry groups, such as the Independent Petroleum Association of America, have accused Fox of confusing hydraulic fracturing with drilling in general. They allege many other errors, large and small. IPAA's "Energy In Depth" campaign issued a seven-page rebuttal to the film, called "Debunking Gasland".

New Marketing approaches for the Marcellus Shale Industry

by Max Asinger 12. February 2011 01:38

Recently Tim Asinger, and I have attended a few marketing seminars geared toward small businesses and Trade shows. This is has given us numerous ideas for the new year. The small business seminar has allowed us to think about what marketing is really all about, and gave us some basic ideas to build off of and grow on. The trade show seminar had a  speaker who was just phenomenal. He has changed my whole perspective of trade shows and how to go about them. He touched on just about everything, as far as i could tell from a newbie’s perspective of it. This was a very good class to have been at for the up coming McKean County Natural Gas Expo for Marcellus Shale, on march 10 & 11th!

Don’t forget to come visit us, we are located at booth #11!
